We have several neighbors that want to participate? Will you bill them separately? We have worked with several groups
of people interested in getting a fence at one time. We submit each individual an estimate which shows the total cost of the
job and then itemizes each of the shared lines with a net bid at the bottom. When we start installation on a large job we
stay on the job until it is done. Any circumstances that would change that are discussed with the customer.
What days do you work?
Our crew works Monday through Friday. We are typically on job sites between
7am and 7:30 am. Our sales staff do estimates at a time that is convenient for our customers Monday thru Friday and Saturday.
Do I have to be there for the installation?
We prefer to have someone on site to go over the
job with our installer first thing in the morning. We ask that they leave contact information with us so we can get in touch
with them during the day if we have questions. On jobs that are highly customized it is suggested that the customer be available
on site as much as possible.
How do I maintain my fence?
We suggest that you get a perservative for your fence. You can check
with your local hardware or paint store. Other items to be aware of include not letting bark or dirt sit on the bottom on
your fence. This causes the cedar rails to rot prematurely because they are always damp. If you want to put a planting bed
up against the fence, use a masonry or pressure treated barrier next to the fence.
What makes the grid and trellises special?
All of our grid and privacy screens are made out
of fence board width material. This gives you a very strong surface, as opposed to products made from lath. They are built
to the specifications of your site. On our lattice top fences and lattice screens we use high quality lattice from Dunn Lumber.
We spend a little more on the lattice to insure your product will last longer. Our trellis are build on pressure treated posts.
If they are free standing they are usually installed on 4 x 6 posts, in line trellises are usually installed on longer standard
fence posts. Each trellis is built when the job is ordered. Our sales staff work with you to design the trellises and grids
that you want. We have often worked with customers who designed their own grid pattern!
I live in an area with softer soil, how do you accommodate for that?
Any time we are on an installation
with softer soil, (like valley soil or sandy soil) we use longer posts, dig the holes deeper and use more cement. There is
an additional charge for the 10 foot posts that is itemized on your estimate.
I would like references and job sites to look at?
We are happy to provide addresses of jobs
we have done; We always check with our customers and secure their permission before we give their information to anyone. Many
people have asked us to use them for references.
What about undergound utilities?
We always have
the undergound utilities located. It is a legal requirement. When ajob sells we will request the locate. We try to be very
specific with our instructions to the locater.
How long does it take for my fence to be installed?
Most
installations take two days. The first day we set the post in concrete. The second day we come back and finish building the
fence. If a job is large or the access is difficult it may take longer.
What about my old fence?
We provide a take down and
haul away service to our customers on request. The benefit of having us perform this service is that it is usually done within
the two day installation time frame, and our customer does not experience a long period of time with their yard open. There
is a charge for take down and haul away that is itemized on our estimate.
What are the payment terms?
Our payment terms are in full upon completion. If a job is over $10,000
we request a 30% down payment. Highly customized jobs also require a down payment when special order materials are used. We
accept checks, Visa and Master card.
What is the warranty?
We have a one year warranty on
materials and labor. We find the most common warranty issue is a gate adjustment, (and it does not happen often). The terms
are identified on the back of your estimate.
